Our songs are AI-generated

We believe in being upfront. The songs HummingOtter creates are generated with artificial intelligence. Both the lyrics and the sung, produced audio are made by AI tools, guided by the brief you provide. There is no human vocalist recording your song in a studio.

What is human and what is AI

• You provide the story, names, memories, and style choices. That human input is what makes each song personal.
• AI writes the original lyrics from your brief.
• AI composes and performs the music and vocals.
• We review the process and the tooling, but the creative output itself is produced by AI.

Originality

Each song is generated fresh from your brief and is intended to be original. We instruct our tools not to copy existing songs. AI can occasionally produce phrasing that resembles common expressions; if anything in your song concerns you, tell us and we will revise it.

Ownership and copyright

This is important. In several jurisdictions, including the United States, purely AI-generated output may not be eligible for copyright protection. That means neither you nor we can claim exclusive copyright over the AI-generated parts of your song.

What you do get is a one-of-a-kind song created from your story, which you are free to keep, play, and share privately as a gift. We do not resell or republish your specific song.

Commercial use

Your song is intended as a personal gift. If you want to use it commercially (for example in an advertisement or a product you sell), contact us first at support@hummingotter.com so we can confirm what is and is not permitted under our providers' licenses.
